We are currently recruiting for a Reliability Engineer for a market leading manufacturing business based in Preston. This is a permanent role that has been created due to continued expansion and business growth. The Business has also recently invested in new systems and processes for the site to improve and develop the maintenance processes within the team.
The role will be responsible for improving the reliability, availability, and performance of critical site assets. The role exists to eliminate repeat failures, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) on all key site assets and support systems. This is a system-improvement role, not a reactive maintenance position.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within an FMCG / Industrial maintenance based role within a manufacturing environment. Strong working knowledge of electrical / mechanical systems is a must. Experience working with Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Motors, pumps, Conveyors, PLC systems, and VSDs are all advantageous.
This is a days based role working Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
Role Description:- Reduce unplanned downtime on critical assets
- Improve OEE through improved availability and performance
- Eliminate chronic and repeat failures
- Increase the proportion of planned vs reactive maintenance work
- Protect asset life and support future capacity requirements
- Conduct FMEA/FMECA
- Analysis of all MTBF, MTTR and lifecycle reliability data to assess performance and highlight improvement opportunities
- Review and design technical risk, warranty exposure and life cycle cost ensuring alignment through systems to support failure reduction
- Key link to OEMs for understanding and information supporting failure mitigation and life cycle extension
- Demonstrable experience working within a maintenance role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Candidates must be Time Served with a demonstrable background in Mechanical / Electrical Maintenance ideally HNC/HND
- Familiar with Siemens PLCs Fault Finding
- Knowledge of Mechanical systems including Conveyors, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Motors, Pumps
- Strong communication skills
