Our client, a leading market supplier of copper-based alloys and non-ferrous materials, is looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing commercial team on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a high-energy, commercially driven professional to take responsibility for developing new business and expanding the company's product offering across Bristol and the surrounding region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, developing compelling value propositions and securing profitable new business lines, whilst also expanding existing customer relationships.

Candidates with previous experience within the metal stockist, metal distribution or non-ferrous materials sector will be highly advantageous.

The successful candidate will be based in / around Bristol, with regular travel throughout the southern territory .

Hours: Monday
Friday The Role Identify and develop new business opportunities across Bristol and the surrounding region.

Develop and execute strategic sales plans to increase revenue and profitability across the territory.

Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and develop new revenue streams within established customer relationships.

Research, map and convert new customer opportunities across untapped markets, sectors and geographical areas.

Develop and promote new applications and revenue opportunities for the company's expanding non-ferrous product portfolio.

Build and maintain strong, multi-level relationships with key customers and decision makers.

Identify commercial barriers and work collaboratively with internal teams to develop effective solutions.

Utilise internal technical, operational and commercial resources to secure profitable new contracts.

Conduct structured account reviews to understand customer demand, identify opportunities and forecast future growth.

Manage customer concerns and proactively resolve issues to protect and develop key business relationships.

Conduct pricing reviews to ensure competitiveness whilst maximising profitability.

Manage complex commercial negotiations through to successful contract closure.

Maintain accurate CRM systems, sales pipelines, customer records and site visit reports.

Monitor market developments and competitor activity to identify emerging opportunities.

Provide regular commercial reporting and market intelligence to support wider business strategy.

Skills & Attributes Demonstrable experience in Business Development / Sales, ideally within the metal stockist, distribution or non-ferrous materials sector.

Strong knowledge of non-ferrous material supply chains is highly desirable.

Proven track record of generating and converting new business opportunities.

Strong commercial and financial awareness, including understanding of margins, pricing and profitability.

Experience managing complex negotiations and closing commercial contracts.

Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Highly self-motivated, results-driven and commercially focused.

Strong strategic thinking with the ability to identify and develop new market opportunities.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work autonomously whilst collaborating effectively with internal teams.

Strong attention to detail and accurate CRM / pipeline management.

Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Bristol region and attend the Leeds office as required.
