Role Overview
We are looking for a Tamil-speaking Operations Manager to set up, stabilise, and scale a new operational project across India and Sri Lanka. This role is critical to establishing day-one operational discipline, building local teams, implementing UK-led standards, and acting as the single point of accountability for delivery in the region. This is a build-and-run role — ideal for someone who enjoys structure, ownership, and execution rather than theory.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Setup & Launch
- Lead the end-to-end setup of the new India/Sri Lanka operation
- Support hiring, onboarding, and structuring of local teams
- Establish working hours, reporting cadence, escalation routes, and governance
- Ensure smooth go-live and early-stage stability of operations
- Operational Management
- Own daily operational delivery across India and Sri Lanka
- Translate UK strategy into clear, executable workflows
- Ensure productivity, quality, and turnaround targets are met
- Proactively identify bottlenecks and implement fixes
- Manage and motivate Tamil-speaking teams on the ground
- Act as the cultural and operational bridge between UK leadership and local teams
- Drive accountability through KPIs, daily stand-ups, and performance reviews
- Foster a professional, disciplined, and improvement-focused culture
- Process & SOP Implementation
- Implement UK-defined SOPs and adapt them appropriately for local delivery
- Document processes clearly and ensure consistent adherence
- Drive continuous improvement through data, feedback, and coaching
- Performance, Reporting & Governance
- Track and report on SLA adherence
- Produce clear weekly and monthly reports for UK leadership
- Ensure compliance with internal data protection, confidentiality, and governance standards
Key Requirements
- Fluent Tamil (spoken and written)
- Strong English communication skills
- Proven experience in operations management or project delivery
- Experience managing teams in India and/or Sri Lanka
- Comfortable working with UK stakeholders and expectations
- Strong organisational and execution skills
- Experience setting up new operations, offshore teams, or shared services
- Background in healthcare, professional services, tech, or call-centre operations
- Exposure to KPI-driven environments
- Experience working with UK or international companies
