The ideal candidate would have:
- Experience installing and commissioning smoke control systems
- Strong knowledge of AOV systems, smoke dampers and mechanical ventilation systems
- Experience integrating smoke control equipment with fire alarm and BMS systems
- The ability to test, balance and verify systems against design specifications
- Knowledge of electrical components including fans, actuators, control panels and emergency power supplies
- The ability to read, produce and review electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams
Qualifications:
- Relevant electrical qualifications or equivalent practical experience
- Knowledge of smoke control regulations, electrical standards and building safety requirements
- A full UK driving licence
About the role:
You will install and commission smoke control systems across a range of buildings throughout London and the South East. You will lead the installation of electrical systems for smoke control solutions, including wiring, power distribution and integration with BMS and fire alarm systems. Your responsibilities will include commissioning AOV systems, smoke dampers and ventilation systems, ensuring each component is tested, balanced and fully operational in line with the design specification and relevant regulations. You will also help select and specify electrical components, produce and verify wiring diagrams, and work closely with contractors, consultants and project teams to ensure each system integrates effectively with the wider building infrastructure.
