We are recruiting for an experienced Fire Alarm & AOV Service Engineer to join a well-established and growing life safety business operating across London. This is a field-based service role, focused on the maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of fire alarm and Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) systems across commercial and residential client sites.
The successful engineer will be technically strong, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in live environments, ensuring all systems remain compliant and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities:- Service, maintain, and fault-find Fire Alarm and AOV systems
- Diagnose and rectify system faults efficiently and safely
- Carry out routine and reactive maintenance visits
- Respond to emergency callouts as part of the on-call rota
- Complete accurate service reports and certification
- Liaise professionally with clients, site contacts, and internal teams
- Ensure all works comply with relevant British Standards and company procedures
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and test equipment
- Proven experience servicing Fire Alarm systems to BS 5839
- Experience working on AOV systems (essential)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Previous field-based service engineering experience
- Confident working independently and managing own workload
- Good IT skills for digital job management and reporting
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience with advanced or integrated fire systems
- Knowledge of smoke control systems, fan motors, and inverters
- FIA qualifications or relevant industry training
- Salary up to £50,000
