Job Purpose
A Domiciliary Care Worker provides essential support to individuals in their own homes, assisting with personal care, daily living tasks, and promoting independence while ensuring dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care & Support
- Assisting with bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Supporting with mobility and use of aids (e.g., hoists, walking frames).
- Assisting with medication reminders in line with care plans.
- Household & Practical Support
- Preparing and serving meals and drinks according to dietary requirements.
- Performing light domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
- Supporting service users with household management as needed.
- Emotional & Social Support
- Encouraging social engagement and companionship.
- Promoting independence and dignity at all times.
- Health & Safety Compliance
- Observing and reporting any changes in health or well-being to supervisors.
- Following infection control procedures and maintaining a clean environment.
- Adhering to safeguarding policies to protect vulnerable individuals.
- Record Keeping & Communication
- Completing accurate care records and reporting concerns promptly.
- Communicating effectively with service users, families, and colleagues.
Essential Criteria
- A caring and compassionate attitude.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping.
Desirable Criteria
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Full training will be provided Enhanced AccessNI check required.
