Job Title: Domiciliary Care Worker Location: Various locations across Northern Ireland Reports To: Care Coordinator / Registered Manager Job Purpose: A Domiciliary Care Worker provides essential support to individuals in their own homes, assisting with personal care, daily living tasks, and promoting independence while ensuring dignity and respect. Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care & Support Assisting with bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene. Supporting with mobility and use of aids (e.g., hoists, walking frames). Assisting with medication reminders in line with care plans.
- Household & Practical Support Preparing and serving meals and drinks according to dietary requirements. Performing light domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping. Supporting service users with household management as needed.
- Emotional & Social Support Encouraging social engagement and companionship. Promoting independence and dignity at all times.
- Health & Safety Compliance Observing and reporting any changes in health or well-being to supervisors. Following infection control procedures and maintaining a clean environment. Adhering to safeguarding policies to protect vulnerable individuals.
- Record Keeping & Communication Completing accurate care records and reporting concerns promptly. Communicating effectively with service users, families, and colleagues. Essential Criteria: A caring and compassionate attitude. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping. Desirable Criteria: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle Full training will be provided Enhanced AccessNI check required.
