Complete classroom services are working with a school seeking a highly organised, proactive, and experienced HR / Office Manager to lead their school\βs administrative and HR functions during a maternity cover period. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our school office, maintaining HR compliance, and supporting the strategic and operational needs of the school community. The successful candidate will manage a small administrative team, coordinate HR processes, and ensure all office systems operate effectively and efficiently in line with Trust policies and statutory requirements. Office Management & Administration
- Lead and line manage the school\βs administrative team to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
- Oversee all administrative systems, including Arbor, HR Access (Selima), and cashless payment systems.
- Ensure the effective management of pupil, personnel, and assessment data.
- Coordinate office procedures, communication systems, and customer service to staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Manage correspondence, reports, and documentation for the Head of School, SLT, and governing body.
Human Resources
- Administer HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, payroll changes, staff attendance, and absence management.
- Maintain accurate and confidential staff records, including vetting, safeguarding, and the Single Central Record.
- Support the Head of School and Trust HR team in employee relations, performance management, and staff welfare.
- Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, safer recruitment, and data protection requirements.
- Coordinate induction, occupational health referrals, and exit interviews as required.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a first point of contact for staff, parents, and visitors, ensuring all are received courteously and professionally.
- Liaise effectively with Trust HR, local authorities, and external agencies.
- Contribute to the positive image and ethos of the school through excellent service and communication.
Leadership & Development
- Supervise and appraise administrative staff, identifying development and training needs.
- Support the continuous improvement of administrative processes and systems.
- Promote teamwork, confidentiality, and professionalism within the office and across the wider school community.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in office management, HR administration, or a similar role (preferably in an education setting).
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Strong working knowledge of HR procedures, safer recruitment, and personnel data management.
- Competence in using ICT systems such as Arbor, HR Access, and Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- A proactive, professional, and positive approach to supporting the school\βs vision and values.
