The Role

As an Art Teacher (Textiles Specialism), you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Art and Textiles lessons across Key Stage 3 and GCSE (Key Stage 4).
  • Inspire students to develop their creativity, technical skills and confidence through a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations, supporting them to achieve their full potential.
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress, using assessment to inform planning and intervention.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the continued success of the Art department.
  • Participate fully in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, school events and wider school life.
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour, attendance and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Art and Textiles at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge with the ability to teach GCSE Art and Textiles.
  • A passion for creative education and inspiring young people.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
