Blessed Hugh Faringdon Catholic School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and inspirational Religious Education Teacher to join our successful Humanities faculty from September 2026 on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be passionate about Religious Education and committed to delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students of all abilities. They will have strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and ambitious Catholic secondary school with a strong sense of community and high expectations for student achievement and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Monitor, assess and track student progress effectively
  • Create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the RE department
  • Support the Catholic ethos and wider life of the school
  • Participate fully in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings and school events

Person Specification

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching Religious Education in a secondary school setting
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Be committed to raising attainment and student progress
  • Support and uphold the Catholic values and ethos of the school
  • Be an effective team player with a positive and proactive attitude
