An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed full-time Humanities Teacher to join a highly successful, co-educational 11–16 state secondary school that has been rated Good by Ofsted. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Humanities Teacher to join a successful Humanities department in a full-time, permanent position, teaching Humanities across Key Stages 3 and 4, including GCSE.
The Role- Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons across Key Stage 3 and GCSE (Key Stage 4).
- Teach a broad Humanities curriculum, which may include History, Geography and Religious Education, depending on your subject specialism.
- Inspire students to develop curiosity, critical thinking and a strong understanding of the world around them through Humanities.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations, supporting them to achieve their full potential.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress, using assessment to inform planning and targeted intervention.
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of students of all abilities, including those with SEND and high prior attainment.
- Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where high expectations are maintained.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the continued success of the Humanities department.
- Participate fully in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, school events and wider school life.
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour, attendance and achievement in line with school policies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the Humanities Teacher team continues to deliver high-quality learning experiences for students.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge with the ability to teach GCSE within your Humanities specialism.
