Role Overview:
The role will be to lead a specified age group within our Foundation Phase, whilst being adaptable to work across age groups as and when required. Coaching will take place within our part time and hybrid training models across players in the Foundation Phase. Working in conjunction with our Operations team, the role is responsible for the arrangements and logistical aspects across the Foundation Phase age groups.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- To provide coaching players across the Foundation Phase to ensure players meet the required standard to thrive within the environment.
- To assist the Foundation Phase Lead in the development and implementation of the coaching programme.
- To assist the technical staff in the coaching of the Academy players across the age groups.
- To select Academy teams for fixtures with the Phase Lead.
- To lead Academy teams for fixtures to ensure the Academy playing and coaching philosophy is being carried out.
- To have an input regarding which players train and play with different age groups.
- Be involved in the decision-making process regarding trialists.
- To complete all administration tasks relevant to the job on time and to the highest possible standards.
- To ensure the correct procedure is carried out for trialists.
- To ensure all information on players across the phase is recorded and up to date.
- Prepare, develop and implement our players Individual Development plans for all players across the phase.
- To oversee the logistics and management of the phases games programme.
- Assist the Head of Foundation Phase with managing our casual age group coaching staff.
- Lead, develop and implement our weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting for all staff in the Foundation Phase.
- Lead on the operational aspects and coaching of our Foundation Phase age groups tours and trips.
- Support the logistical arrangements for the Academy Hybrid Training Model programmes.
- Support the operational requirements for all trialists.
- Following fixtures, watch video footage and assist in preparing the feedback for the players.
- Support with administrative tasks relating to the PGAAC and full compliance with all Premier League Youth Development Rules.
- To ensure that all players, parents and staff act in an appropriate fashion as required by their relevant Nottingham Forest Football Club Code of Conduct.
- To promptly communicate with the Head of Foundation Phase any important information regarding their work.
- To take part in development activities, both inside and outside the Club.
- To drive Club transport when required.
- To implement all reasonable tasks as instructed by the Head of Academy.
- Present a professional image when dealing with both internal and external contacts and partners.
- To create successful and professional relationships with players and staff.
- To act, at all times, in a manner appropriate to a representative of Nottingham Forest FC.
- Keep up to date with knowledge of current legislation and policies.
- All staff are responsible for the wellbeing and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults on all Club sites.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
- UEFA B Licence or above.
- FA Advanced Youth Award.
- Current FA Safeguarding Certificate.
- Enhanced DBS Clearance.
- Emergency First Aid Certificate.
- Excellent knowledge of professional football.
- Experience of focusing on individual player development within a team process.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and willing to work unsociable hours.

- Degree or equivalent qualification, or equivalent relevant professional training or experience.
