Sheffield United’s Academy Recruitment team are looking for a talented coach to join our Emerging Talent Centre structure. Ideal candidates possess strong reporting skills and the ability to carefully and accurately monitor the progress of potential talent, providing valuable feedback to the broader recruitment team, while ensuring that players have an enjoyable learning experience.
Role Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high quality coaching sessions to the players within the Emerging Talent structure.
- Complete assessments and reviews of players in the system as directed by the Head of Local Recruitment.
- Implement the Club’s coaching philosophy into player assessments, demonstrating the key principles and expectations within individual player reports.
- Demonstrate a holistic understanding of Emerging Talent Centers’ contribution to the overall Academy structure and recruitment and selection process.
- Attend CPD events as directed by the Head of Local Recruitment.
- Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.
- Adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.
- Report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club’s Safeguarding agenda.
- Report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.
- Adhere to the Club’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.
- Carry out and actively participate in all training requests as directed by the Club, including mandatory health and safety training, emergency procedures, fire safety, manual handling, safeguarding, and role‑specific safety instruction.
Essential Criteria for the Role
- To hold the UEFA C coaching License.
- FA Emergency First Aid in Football certification.
- Completion of an enhanced criminal record check through the Disclosure and Barring Service, upon offer acceptance.
Desirable Criteria for the Role
- To hold the UEFA B License / UEFA B Goalkeeping License.
- FA Talent ID Level 1 and/or Level 2 certification.
