The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 ÂŁ per year.

This role will integrate within the High Performance and Medical Team and is important for the delivery of physiotherapy services to Field, Boundary and Goal Umpires within the State League and Talent Pathway program. The physiotherapy role is responsible for the provision of the highest standards of sports physiotherapy services, including injury diagnosis, rehabilitation, load management and injury prevention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Injury assessment, including diagnostics and rehabilitation prescription and management in collaboration with the Rehab Coach for optimal performance and health outcomes.
  • Planning and delivery of rehabilitation programs for injured athletes in conjunction with the Rehab Coach.
  • Form part of the return-to-play decision making in collaboration with the Rehab Coach and High Performance Manager.
  • Utilise expertise within the multi-disciplinary team to help inform rehabilitation management.
  • Promote and develop load management and injury prevention strategies, including physical screening in collaboration with the Physiotherapy Team, Rehab Coach and Doctor.
  • Effective communication with High Performance Manager and relevant stakeholders to ensure an “athlete centred” approach and shared decision making.
  • Contribute and participate in internal professional development opportunities.

Injury Management

  • Maintaining detailed and accurate athlete clinical notes and data collection through the Injury Management System, Smartabase.
  • Understand athlete injury trends and physical screening data via Smartabase to inform physiotherapy practice and injury prevention programs and strategies.
  • Develop injury-related educational content and deliver to a broad range of emerging umpire talent.

Sports Trainers

  • Promote an inclusive team orientated environment between the Sports Trainers and High Performance and Medical Team to enhance positive injury management and performance outcomes.
  • Utilise sports trainers for ongoing taping and soft tissue therapy as guided by the physiotherapy team.

Must haves – what’s needed to help you be successful

  • Strong work ethic underpinned by a clear attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Approachable and empathetic with excellent listening capabilities.
  • Proficient interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • A track record of managing multiple tasks and prioritising projects to ensure timely delivery.

Mandatory

  • Current AHPRA registration as a physiotherapist.
  • Experience working with emerging talent, sub-elite or elite athletes.
  • Strong clinical diagnostic and rehabilitation planning skills.
  • An ability to work Tuesday evenings and attend SLTP training at Victoria Park.
  • Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary High Performance Team.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist (or working towards Titling).
  • Experience in managing running-related injuries.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Football.
  • Proficient in sports science technology.
  • Sports Medicine / Physio / Allied Health Degree.
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check.
