DEPARTMENT: Commercial, Soccer Schools, Hampshire

DIRECT REPORTS: None

CONTRACT: Part-time 25 hours a week and 5 of 7 days

JOB FUNCTION: To deliver safe, inclusive, high quality provision across the core programme and various important activity and to lead and support on the development of programmes.

PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities):

  • To lead, deliver and co-ordinate on a post 16 football programme at Sparsholt College.
  • To lead and deliver a minimum of 15 hours of activity across 3 separate sessions a week.
  • To Support on the Player Development Programme for 10 hours a week.
  • To attend regular meetings at Sparsholt College and producing end of term reports on progress to share with both parties.
  • To lead, deliver and co-ordinate on various Football Projects throughout the year.
  • To oversee and deliver safe, inclusive and high quality coaching activity across the core programmes.
  • To deliver on activity to support relationships with local youth football clubs to further support the post 16 programme.
  • To network and drive innovative ways in which to develop the area to create additional sporting opportunities to further enhance the wider delivery programme.
  • To lead on the induction and onboarding process for contracted and sessional coaches, which includes relevant training/CPD, mentoring opportunities, appropriate resources and quality assuring.
  • Conducting regular 1:1's with contracted staff to review performance and KPI's and objectives, involvement in team meetings and investing in their development/training opportunities/CPD.
  • To carry out duties relevant to legislation and the Clubs policies and procedures.
  • To undertake any Club activities that may be required in addition to the role.

  • To adhere to the Club's policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Financial Authorisation, Confidentiality and GDPR.
  • To act as an ambassador for diversity, equality, and inclusion, and demonstrate a positive commitment by treating others fairly in line with our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy and reporting any acts of discrimination through appropriate channels.
  • To create a safe environment and act to protect all young people and vulnerable adults that are either in your care or attending club premises, and report any concerns to the Safeguarding Lead.
  • To report any misconduct or suspected misconduct to the HR Department.

HERE TO WIN (Measures of Performance):

  • To ensure the written post 16 football agreement with the School or College is renewed each time.
  • The participant numbers on the post 16 football programme grow or where agreed with the School or College, sustain year on year.
  • To be a positive role model and leader, creating a safe, positive, inclusive and fun environment in which to educate, motivate and inspire young people and other participants to succeed and further develop.
  • To ensure all available exit routes are made available for the post 16 students.
  • To deliver coaching sessions across the week at no less than 50% of contracted hours. (This does not include travel and set up/down).
  • To lead and support with other CFC Football Development Staff in mentoring and guiding contracted and sessional coaches in best practice and professionalism.

PROUD TO BE CHELSEA (Person Specification)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of the new FA C Licence, working towards an FA B Licence.
  • In date FA Safeguarding Children course & the FA Introduction to First Aid in Football certificate.
  • Enhanced DBS check.

Experience:

  • Coached and/or managed an 11 a side football team for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Worked within a High School or College setting for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Been involved in community/grass roots sports as a coach for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Worked as part of a team within a sporting environment.

Skills and Behaviours:

  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • A good ability to organise and motivate team members.
  • Confident and outgoing personality.
  • Able to support and improve staff members.
  • Robust attention to detail.
  • Reliable and trustworthy.
  • Risk aware and confident and competent in escalating information.
  • Confident in presenting both in a classroom and on the pitches.
