Competition Classics are seeking a skilled and dedicated Classic Car Mechanic / Restorer to join our expanding team in Uckfield, East Sussex. We are a specialist workshop focused on classic vehicle racing, maintenance and restoration, with a growing portfolio of exciting long-term projects and an increasingly busy workshop. Due to continued expansion and a strong forward order book, we are looking for an experienced technician to support the restoration and maintenance side of the business. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of interesting classic and specialist vehicles within a passionate enthusiast-driven environment.
THE ROLE
- Full and partial classic vehicle restorations
- Vehicle strip-down and rebuilds
- Vehicle servicing, fault finding and mechanical repairs
- Suspension, braking and fuel system refurbishment
- Engine and driveline removal/refitting
- Mechanical assembly and restoration preparation work
- Supporting workshop operations and project builds
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and presentation
- You may also have the opportunity to work on our classic race cars and support our racing activity
EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a classic car mechanic or vehicle restorer
- Minimum 5 years experience within the restoration or specialist automotive industry
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability
- Experience with restoration, servicing and maintenance work
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Professional and dedicated approach to achieving high standards
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Full UK driving licence
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE BENEFICIAL
- Fabrication or welding experience
- Electrical fault-finding experience
- Experience working on specialist or performance vehicles
- Workshop organisation and project management skills
