Deputy Head of Commercial – Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)

Location: Canary Wharf, London

Pay Range: Competitive – CMA will discuss your individual base pay based on experience and skill level.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day‑to‑day commercial operations, delivering innovative and compliant procurement arrangements for the CMA.
  • Manage public sector procurement activities across value ranges from £10,000 to over £2 million.
  • Build and expand a high‑value commercial function, ensuring value for money and capability to meet CMA’s business needs.
  • Drive forward a programme of commercial transformation, aligning the CMA commercial function with the Government Commercial Function operating model.
  • Negotiate and resolve contentious commercial issues, providing strong inspirational leadership to build teams and deliver value‑for‑money outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Professional qualification MCIPS or willingness to achieve MCIPS accreditation.
  • Government Commercial Organisation accreditation or willingness to obtain it.
  • Demonstrable end‑to‑end public sector procurement track record, including contracting and supplier relationship management.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and resolve commercial issues, leading and inspiring commercial teams.
