We have an exciting opportunity to work for a nationally recognised business, considered to be the leader in its field. Pay rates from £15.32 per hour depending on shifts. The role of a Loading Shovel Operator is based in Ware.
Responsibilities
- Operate loading shovels safely and efficiently in line with site procedures
- Load materials into vehicles, crushers, or designated stockpiles accurately
- Carry out daily pre-use checks and basic maintenance of equipment
- Identify and report mechanical faults or safety issues promptly
- Maintain clean and organised working areas
- Follow all site health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Ensure materials are handled correctly to avoid contamination or spillage
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience operating loading shovels or similar heavy plant
- Relevant operator certification or license (e.g. CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent)
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations
- Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
Desirable
- Experience in quarrying, mining, waste, or construction environments
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime if required
