We have an exciting opportunity to work for a nationally recognised business, considered to be the leader in its field. Pay rates from £15.32 per hour depending on shifts. The role of a Loading Shovel Operator is based in Ware.

Responsibilities

  • Operate loading shovels safely and efficiently in line with site procedures
  • Load materials into vehicles, crushers, or designated stockpiles accurately
  • Carry out daily pre-use checks and basic maintenance of equipment
  • Identify and report mechanical faults or safety issues promptly
  • Maintain clean and organised working areas
  • Follow all site health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Ensure materials are handled correctly to avoid contamination or spillage

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience operating loading shovels or similar heavy plant
  • Relevant operator certification or license (e.g. CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

Desirable

  • Experience in quarrying, mining, waste, or construction environments
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime if required

Monday - Saturday 07:00 - 16:30

Pay

£15.32 per hour Paid Weekly in arrears
