Job Title: Operations Clerk (Warehouse with Driving)
Location: Colnbrook (near Heathrow)
Salary: £27,500 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30 (30-minute lunch)
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and proactive Operations Clerk (Warehouse with Driving) to support a busy logistics and freight operation. This is a permanent opportunity for someone with a strong warehouse background and a valid UK driving licence, looking to grow and develop their career within import/export operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work across import, export and fulfilment warehouses performing tasks including picking and packing, shipment processing, bagging, labelling, and administrative/computer-based duties
- Carry out general warehouse duties and maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety
- Collect courier and cargo shipments from airport sheds within the Heathrow area
- Complete general administration and filing within warehouse departments
- Maintain clear and effective communication with other departments to ensure smooth operations
- Prioritise workload effectively to meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Report any health and safety accidents, incidents, or near misses to your line manager promptly
- Operate forklifts (training provided if needed)
- Maintain company vehicles and equipment including cleanliness, monthly inspections, and forklift checks
- Perform ad hoc deliveries and collections in and around Heathrow, with occasional tasks in other areas as required
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working in an import/export warehouse environment
- Full UK Driving Licence (over 25 preferred for insurance purposes, maximum 6 points on licence)
- Intermediate computer skills and experience with administrative tasks
- Some experience with export customs entries
- Ability to work Monday to Friday shifts, 09:00 – 17:30
- Willingness to learn and take on varied responsibilities
Desirable
- Forklift licence or willingness to undertake training
- X-ray screener certification or willingness to obtain
- Self-motivated with a strong desire for personal and professional development
Additional Information
- Subject to satisfactory 5-year reference checks and enhanced DBS clearance
- Proof of right to work in the UK required
- Cargo operative training will be provided if needed
- Exceptional candidates under 25 may be considered if they hold a full driving licence
- Role involves working across both export and import warehouses, as well as deliveries and collections at Heathrow airline sheds and occasional ad hoc collections/deliveries
