Compco - Fire Suppression Systems

Full-Time Salary + Van/Package

This vacancy exists because someone got promoted. You could be next.

At Compco we try to support progression and development wherever possible, it's how we build careers here. If you are looking to join a close-knit team, with supportive management then a role at Compco could be for you.

  • A clear route up - this role exists right now because of an internal promotion, and that's exactly the trajectory we want for whoever joins next

  • Room to expand your experience - you'll get exposure across the full project lifecycle, not just one narrow slice of it, building a breadth of skills most engineers wait years to get

  • Mentoring that's actually personal - your line manager will set your objectives and back your development and training, tailored to where you are and where you want to go

  • Training that gets you qualified - if you've got the potential but not every box ticked yet, we'll invest in the qualifications and support to get you there

  • A specialist industry with real long-term demand - the skills and relationships you build here carry weight

  • A close, collaborative team - colleagues who share knowledge and want to see you succeed

Real involvement, real development, real progression.

What you'll be doing

  • Planning, coordinating and delivering automatic sprinkler system projects from inception to commissioning

  • Developing project plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocations

  • Managing relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors

  • Monitoring performance through site visits, progress reviews and reporting

  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality and contractual standards

  • Identifying and managing project risks, issues and changes as they arise

  • Supporting and coordinating project teams, including subcontractors and consultants

  • Tracking project costs, forecasting and budget control

  • Presenting progress updates and recommendations to senior management

  • Feeding into lessons-learned reviews and continuous improvement

What you bring

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

  • Some experience in a project management capacity is a plus - but potential matters more than a perfect CV

  • Exposure to the M&E or sprinkler industry, or familiarity with project management software (e.g. MS Project), is useful but not required

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team mindset

  • The ability to prioritise and stay sharp under pressure

  • CSCS card

Missing a qualification?

If you've got the right attitude and potential, we'll help you get there as part of our ongoing development programme.

If you want a role that opens doors rather than closes them and a team that's genuinely invested in where you go next - this is your move.
