We are looking for a Team Leader to join us, for the competitive salary of £30,000 per annum. It will be a days position, working on a rolling rota of 4 shifts on and 4 shifts off - 8am-8pm.

Role Responsibilities

You will provide support and companionship to a range of adults living in our supported living within St Helen's. Compassionate Care Group has a varied client base, each individual requiring different help and support with Mental Health, Autism and learning disabilities. You will be offering a supportive ear, calm presence whilst still bringing an element of fun into their daily activities and needs. You will be promoting independence with all our clients and enabling them to live an independent and fulfilling lifestyle. You must be self-motivated, and ensure the quality of support provided is consistent with current legislation. As a Team Leader you will provide leadership to the Care and support functions of the house and supervise the Care and support services within the house in accordance with agreed standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Must have Mental Health support work experience
  • Develop effective working relationships with the First Line Manager.
  • Participate in the development of the house's policies.
  • Participation in on-call required.
  • Participate in the evaluation of the house's against agreed organisational goals, as well as business and quality objectives.
  • Work to establish effective employer-employee relationships.
  • Minimise legal risks.
  • Participate in the maintenance of the house's management information systems.
  • Assist in the implementation of Care Policies and Procedures.
  • Act within the house's budget based on its objectives and within the projected revenue.
  • Be involved in the implementation and maintenance of the house’s quality assurance programme.
  • Assist in administration of an evaluation of the Care Standards and Care service provision.
  • Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues which arise.
  • Oversee the operational running of their shift and their team in an absence of the First Line Manager.
  • Report any issues witnessed or suspected as a matter of urgency to your First Line Manager or their First Line Manager in absence of your First Line Manager.
  • Completing documentation, care notes, MAR charts as part of compliance and staff responsibility.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience within supported living.
  • Have experience with Mental Health, Autism or Learning Disabilities in a work setting.
  • Have a natural sense of empathy and good common sense.
  • Will have understanding of others who may display behaviours that can present challenges.
  • Have great organisational skills and ability to think outside the box.
  • Must be a driver with access to your own vehicle.
Qualifications required
  • NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care / The Care Certificate / NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or willing to work towards it.
