We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Manager to lead our brand‑new flagship Residential Children’s Home in Lancaster. As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage the service consistent with the approach and ethos of the organisation, delivering outcomes and outstanding care, as set out in the statement of purpose.
  • Manage the daily operations of the service, whilst ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered to children and young people.
  • Oversee a myriad of safeguarding practices and ensure a robust safeguarding culture.
  • Cultivate a dynamic and supportive team environment through inspirational leadership.
  • Foster a positive team culture that prioritises the needs, well‑being and outcomes of all children.
  • Conduct regular supervision, appraisals, and training to support staff, whilst being a fierce advocate of continued professional development.
  • Foster strong and meaningful relationships with children, staff members, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted standards, the Children’s Homes Regulations, and all other relevant legislation.

The Ideal Candidate must have:

  • Essential Level 5 Diploma in Children and Young People – Residential Childcare.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing a Residential Children’s Home.
  • Proven track record of effective leadership skills, encompassing the ability to motivate and inspire those around them.
  • In‑depth and robust understanding of regulatory and legal requirements of Ofsted Registered provisions, and underpinning child and social care legislation.
  • Champion children’s rights and a fierce advocate of improving the lives of looked‑after children and children with disabilities.
  • Bundles of resilience, with the natural ability to maintain composure and professionalism when placed in high‑pressure situations.
  • The ability to turn challenges into opportunities and bring about the best in those around them.
  • Valid UK Driver’s License and access to own vehicle.

Desirable:

  • Substantial experience of the Ofsted inspection process; and of obtaining “Good”, or “Outstanding” accreditations at key inspections.
  • Experience of working with children with social and emotional mental health needs and complex children who encompass profound learning disabilities.
  • Previous experience of working within therapeutic care frameworks/models and trauma‑informed practice.
