Support Worker Role
You will provide support and companionship to a range of adults living in our service located in Durham. We have 2 part-time vacancies 9am - 5pm:
- Person 1 - Week 1: Wednesday and Thursday; Week 2: Friday and Saturday
- Person 2 - Week 1: Saturday and Sunday; Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday
Compassionate Care Group Northeast provides support to adults with complex care needs to enjoy a fun-filled daily life. We support with hobbies such as swimming, bowling, shopping, meeting friends, and visits to pubs. We enable our clients to remain comfortable within their home environments, whilst being cared for by professional and highly trained Healthcare Workers. We pride ourselves on delivering care that truly meets the needs of the individual we support and provide a first-class service to the teams who support them.
You will be promoting independence with all our clients and enabling them to live an independent and fulfilling lifestyle. You must be self-motivated, and ensure the quality of support provided is consistent with current legislation. This is a fast-paced yet highly rewarding position. You will need to think on your feet, be reliable and punctual, as the people you support will be relying on you to help them live their best lives!
Key Responsibilities
- Developing clients' life skills and personal interests
- Supporting clients with medication and ensuring they achieve their own goals and aspirations
- Arranging social activities in the home and in the local community
- Promoting the independence of every client we support
The Ideal Candidate
- Use previous experience and/or existing transferable skills to promote independent living for all our clients
- May have experience with Mental Health, Autism or Learning Disabilities in a work setting or from personal experience (this isn’t essential as we provide all the training!)
- Have a natural sense of empathy and good common sense
- Will have an easy-going personality and are understanding of others who may display behaviour that can present challenges
- Have great organisational skills and ability to think outside the box
- Must be a Driver with access to their own vehicle
- Are punctual, reliable and have the ability to think quickly and effectively
