We are looking for a Head of Service for the Complex Clinical Health Division to lead, manage, and develop Compassionate Care’s nurse‑led clinical services. This will include overseeing complex clinical health packages involving tracheostomy care, respiratory support, PEG management, epilepsy, neurodisabilities, and high‑risk or forensic needs. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance follows CQC regulations, drives high clinical standards, and delivers excellence in safety, quality, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership for the Complex Clinical Health Division, supporting long‑term service growth and development.
  • Represent the division externally, building strong relationships with commissioners, NHS partners, case managers, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead and support Registered Managers and Clinical Leads, ensuring effective operational and clinical leadership across services.
  • Ensure services meet or exceed regulatory standards, maintaining compliance with CQC requirements and internal performance targets.
  • Oversee clinical governance and quality assurance, including audits, care planning standards, MAR accuracy, and documentation.
  • Maintain oversight of clinical risk and incident management, ensuring learning from incidents and reviews drives continuous improvement.
  • Ensure safe staffing levels and high‑quality clinical care delivery across all complex care services.
  • Lead workforce development, ensuring staff complete mandatory and specialist complex‑care training and competency frameworks.
  • Promote a culture of clinical excellence, professionalism, and staff wellbeing, supporting recruitment, retention, and professional development.
  • Drive innovation and performance reporting, including implementation of digital clinical systems and providing regular quality and governance reports.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 3 years’ leading complex clinical services.
  • Strong understanding of tracheostomy care, PEG management, respiratory support, and clinical risk.
  • Proven record of leadership in health or social care.
  • Experience with CQC compliance and clinical governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience leading investigations.
