Overview of the role:

  • Work directly with children and young people with Autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex behavioural presentations.
  • Offer a supportive ear, calm presence, and bring fun to their daily lives and activities.
  • Forge positive relationships with young people, their families, and external partners, creating a supportive network.
  • Tailor your approach to everyone’s unique needs and cultural background and actively promote diversity across the service.
  • Think on your feet and solve problems creatively to overcome challenges.
  • Empower and advocate for all children and young people, at every opportunity.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Dynamic, energetic, and passionate about making a positive impact on young lives.
  • Previous work and/or personal experience is preferred. However, full training will be provided.
  • Excellent English language skills are required, due to some of the communication impediments and learning difficulties our children and young people may encompass.
  • Due to the complexities of the role, you will be 25 years of age or over.
  • A resilient individual with strong listening skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Relevant health and social care qualifications in children and young people or a willingness to work towards them.
  • A genuine desire to make a positive impact and a difference to children’s lives.
  • Willingness to work a fixed rota.
  • You must be able to drive, and a clean Driver’s licence with no fault claims is essential.
