Overview of the role:
- Work directly with children and young people with Autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex behavioural presentations.
- Offer a supportive ear, calm presence, and bring fun to their daily lives and activities.
- Forge positive relationships with young people, their families, and external partners, creating a supportive network.
- Tailor your approach to everyone’s unique needs and cultural background and actively promote diversity across the service.
- Think on your feet and solve problems creatively to overcome challenges.
- Empower and advocate for all children and young people at every opportunity.
Our ideal candidate:
- Dynamic, energetic, and passionate about making a positive impact on young lives.
- Previous work and/or personal experience is preferred. However, full training will be provided.
- Excellent English language skills are required, due to some of the communication impediments and learning difficulties, our children and young people may encompass.
- Due to the complexities of the role, you will be 25 years of age or over.
- A resilient individual with strong listening skills and a willingness to learn.
- Relevant health and social care qualifications in children and young people or a willingness to work towards them.
- A genuine desire to make a positive impact and a difference to children’s lives.
- Willingness to work a fixed rota, including sleep‑ins.
- You must be able to drive, and a clean Driver’s licence with no fault claims is essential.
