Come and join our new service in Ellenbrook as a Specialist Support Worker - FEMALE ONLY. This is a full-time position working both days and nights on a 2 days on, 2 nights on, and then 4 off rolling rota. You will provide support to our client in her own home and local area in Salford.

Compassionate Care Group provides personalised support to people with complex needs, which include mental health needs, autism, and learning disabilities. You will provide positive and proactive support to enable our client to engage in varied activities, learn new skills, and promote her independence. You will have a fun and engaging, yet caring and calm interaction style, with the ability to tune into and adapt to our client’s needs. You must be self-motivated and person-centred with the ability to put plans into action and ensure the quality of support provided is consistent with current legislation. You must have excellent communication skills.

This is a highly rewarding position, with the opportunity to have a significant positive impact. You will need to think on your feet, be reliable and punctual, as the young lady you support will be relying on you to help her live her best life!

Working hours/pattern: We have full-time contracts available - 4 on 4 off to join our Days Team at £13 per hour. You will be working on a rolling rota that will include weekdays, weekends, Bank Holidays, and other religious festivals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting our client, a young lady who has learning disabilities and health needs.
  • Developing our client’s life skills and personal interests.
  • Supporting our client’s health needs by attending health appointments, liaising with professionals, and supporting with medication.
  • Arranging and supporting a structured and varied plan of activities in the home and in the local community, which includes support to attend vocational and leisure opportunities.
  • Supporting our client in developing her skills and promoting her independence.
  • Working collaboratively with the young lady, her family, and other key people to identify goals and document progress.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous work or personal experience of supporting individuals with autism and/or learning disabilities is essential.
  • Driver's licence and access to a car - preferable.
  • Have a natural sense of empathy and good common sense.
  • Will have exceptional communication skills and be understanding of others who may display behaviours of concern.
  • Have good organisational skills and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Experience of Positive Behaviour Support is desirable, although not essential.
  • Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care or willing to work towards.
