About the role
As an Office Facilities Volunteer, you will support the upkeep and improvement of our office environment. Tasks will vary depending on current needs and may include:
- Gardening and outdoor upkeep
- Light internal painting and touch-ups
- Jet washing outdoor areas
- Sanding and maintaining outdoor furniture
- General maintenance and office improvement tasks (agreed in advance)
About you
- Comfortable completing practical tasks such as light maintenance, painting, or outdoor upkeep (with guidance provided)
- Able to work independently when needed, and to ask questions when unsure
- Reliable and communicates clearly about availability
- Willing to follow health and safety guidance and use any required equipment safely
- Deeply connected to Compassion’s ministry to children and volunteer in accordance with Compassion UK’s Statement of Faith, Core Values, Ethos Statement, and other policies, including our commitment to Child Protection.
In return, you will receive:
- Reimbursement of reasonable, pre-agreed travel expenses (in line with our expenses policy)
- An induction and any training needed for the role
- Ongoing support and a named point of contact
- A welcoming working environment and access to on-site facilities during your volunteering time (for example, kitchen and break-out areas)
Hours for volunteering: Flexible, by mutual agreement. There is no minimum commitment. Opportunities will be offered as projects arise and can be arranged around your availability.
