About the role
As our One Health Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in continuing to strengthen Compassion in World Farming’s influence in global One Health policy spaces. You will provide technical, analytical, and strategic support to the International Affairs Team, embedding animal welfare into One Health approaches across UN and multilateral processes.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and analysing the global One Health policy landscape across UN and multilateral institutions
- Producing high‑quality policy analysis, evidence synthesis, and strategic briefings
- Identifying opportunities to integrate animal welfare into One Health frameworks and global policy debates
- Supporting the delivery of CIWF’s One Health Strategy for 2026–2027
- Building and sustaining relationships with Member States, UN agencies, civil society partners, and researchers
- Strengthening CIWF’s visibility and influence in One Health–related fora
About you
To succeed in this role, you’ll need strong expertise in One Health or closely related fields, and the ability to operate confidently within complex international policy environments. You should think strategically, translate evidence into clear, persuasive policy insights for diplomatic and technical audiences, work independently across multiple workstreams, collaborate effectively across cultures and time zones, and be committed to CIWF’s mission and values.
Skills and experience you’ll need
- Demonstrated experience in One Health, global health governance, animal health and welfare, AMR, environmental health, food systems, or related science‑policy fields
- Strong track record of policy research, landscape mapping, and strategic intelligence‑gathering
- Experience engaging with UN bodies and multilateral processes, including the Quadripartite, UNGA, FAO, UNEP, or ECOSOC
- Proven ability to produce high‑quality policy briefs, evidence syntheses, or technical papers
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong drafting skills for policy and diplomatic audiences
- Ability to build and maintain strategic international networks
- Willingness to travel internationally and work flexibly across global time zones
