We are looking for an Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner to join the Wakefield Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service. This part‑time role (three days per week from 9:30am to 4:00pm) supports children, young people and families through early intervention, advice and goal‑focused emotional wellbeing support across community and educational settings.
Responsibilities
- Carry out emotional wellbeing assessments and deliver evidence‑based interventions.
- Provide guidance to help children and young people access the right support at the right time.
- Work closely with families, schools and partner agencies to build positive outcomes and reduce barriers to engagement.
- Contribute to wellbeing promotion activities, deliver training and support wider service development within a collaborative and values‑led team.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualification in mental health or working with children and young people such as Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or equivalent.
- Relevant post‑qualification experience working with children, young people or vulnerable groups.
- Experience working within multi‑agency partnerships and inter‑disciplinary teams.
- Strong communication, organization and time‑management skills, ability to manage own caseload and work independently.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, psychosocial interventions and ability to build positive relationships with children, families and professionals.
- Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
- UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (unless disability alternative is provided).
- Familiarity with UK professional registration and Disclosure & Barring Service checks.
