Compass is looking for Volunteer Peer Advisors to help shape and influence our services, ensuring they best meet the needs of those who use them.
As a Volunteer Peer Advisor, you will support Compass in evaluating and developing services by sharing your insights, experiences, and ideas. This is an opportunity to influence meaningful change while gaining valuable skills and experience.
Activities may include:
- Sharing experiences – discuss accessing emotional wellbeing and substance use services for young people
- Providing insight at events – attend local and virtual events to help improve services
- Recruiting staff – participate in selecting practitioners and managers
- Developing resources – collaborate on service materials and programs
- Promoting participation – engage in outreach to involve more young people and families
- Influencing decision-making – work with the Board to develop plans with input from young people and families
About You
We seek a motivated, flexible individual with understanding of emotional wellbeing and substance use impact.
You should be welcoming, approachable, reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to engage with colleagues, young people, and families while maintaining confidentiality.
Applications from Young Peer Advisors with lived experience, and Family Peer Advisors (parents/carers supporting a young person), are encouraged.
