Compass Be Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) and Specialist Team ensure Children and Young People (CYP) access the right help, at the right time, in the right setting, MHSTs will remove duplication and avoid CYP/families being bounced in between services.

The service supports CYP and families providing extra capacity for early intervention support within school and college settings in three core areas:

Providing evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing issues

Supporting designated senior mental health leads in each setting

Providing timely advice to school and college staff and parents as required, We are looking to recruit and enthusiastic person who has a good knowledge of educational environments, experience of working with CYP and their families, and experience of delivering specific therapeutic interventions to children (e.g. CBT, solution focused brief therapy) You will have the ability to conduct mental health assessments of children and young people, assessing risk, and provide formulation for interventions. We are looking for someone with excellent oral and written skills, with ability to work independently and as part of our wider team. The Specialist Mental Health Practitioner role will be delivering interventions to CYP who have been referred in with SEN or Adverse childhood experiences. The support requires extra considerations, such as time to build relationships, adapted working to meet goals, and additional support to families, and professionals involved in their care.
