We are recruiting for a Commercial Gas Engineer with a strong mechanical background to join a leading facilities management provider. This is a rare opportunity for an engineer who is in the process of obtaining their Commercial Gas tickets (or has recently qualified) to gain the hands-on experience needed to become a fully-fledged technician.

If you have a solid history in Mechanical Plant, Plumbing, or Heating and are looking to bridge the gap between domestic and commercial gas, this is the role for you.

As a Commercial Gas Engineer (Mechanical Bias), you will work on a mobile basis across London, servicing offices, hospitals, and mixed-use commercial buildings. Your initial focus will be on the mechanical side of the plant room.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mechanical Plant Maintenance: Servicing pumps, valves, calorifiers, pressurisation units, and associated pipework.
  • Commercial Heating: Fault-finding on wet systems, radiators, and heating circuits.
  • Gas Compliance: Once you have your Commercial Gas tickets (e.g., COCN1 / CODCN1), you will service gas-fired appliances and boilers under the guidance of the team.
  • General Maintenance: Safety checks and plant room inspections.

The Candidate:

To be considered for this Commercial Gas Engineer position, you do not need years of commercial experience, but you must be mechanically competent.

Essential Requirements:

  • Mechanical Skills: Strong background in Plumbing, Heating, or Mechanical Plant (NVQ Level 2 / 3 preferable).
  • Gas Qualifications: You must hold Domestic Gas (CCN1) AND be currently working towards or holding Commercial Gas qualifications (COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, etc.).
  • Experience: Previous experience working in commercial plant rooms is highly preferred.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
