An established building services contractor is seeking a commercial Electrician to work across North Somerset, Bristol and the surrounding areas on a mix of maintenance, testing and small‑works projects. This Electrician role suits a hands-on commercial Electrical Engineer who enjoys varied work, good client interaction and ongoing technical development.

As a commercial Electrician (Electrical Engineer), you will work across sites such as offices, healthcare, education and commercial buildings carrying out installation, maintenance and testing. Typical work includes PAT testing, EICR/fixed wire inspections, LED lighting upgrades, emergency lighting, data and power, EV charging and general electrical maintenance.

Key duties:

  • Install, maintain and repair commercial electrical and lighting systems
  • Carry out EICR / fixed wire inspections (Our client is happy to support and fund Engineers that want to obtain a testing qualification).
  • Deliver LED lighting and emergency lighting upgrades and small-works projects
  • Fault-find and rectify electrical issues safely and efficiently
  • Complete compliant testing, certification and electronic job documentation

What You’ll Need:

  • Electrician / Electrical Engineer experience in a commercial setting.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation - beneficial but not essential
  • Minimum 17th Edition (BS 7671) – 18th Edition is highly desirable, but not essential
  • Inspection & Testing (e.g. 2391/2394/2395) is beneficial but not essential - our client is happy to support engineers in obtaining this).
  • Full UK driving licence and strong customer-facing skills

If you currently hold 17th Edition only, the employer is happy to fund your 18th Edition and additional qualifications (e.g. inspection & testing) and provide cross‑training into areas such as EICR work, LED projects and EV charging.
