About The Role

This is more than a volunteering opportunity. It is your chance to shape how people see Compass, what we stand for, the energy behind our teams, and the life changing support we offer to children, young people and families.

As a Digital Communications and Marketing Volunteer, you will help tell the story of Compass in ways that are engaging, respectful and full of purpose. You will work alongside passionate staff to craft social media content, update our website and create values-led campaigns that reflect the heart of who we are.

From capturing the energy of our teams to sharing the stories behind our services, you will help show the real people, values and purpose at the heart of Compass. Your content might highlight a community event, showcase our new opportunities, celebrate a colleague’s impact, be a part of our careers portal, or explain our support in a way that feels clear and welcoming.

We are not looking for polished campaigns. We are looking for someone who can help us speak to people with honesty, warmth and imagination. Someone who understands that a simple message, told well, can help someone feel seen or take the first step towards support.

Flexible, creative and full of purpose, this is a chance to build your skills or use your existing expertise while doing something that really matters.

About You

You are imaginative, enthusiastic and ready to use your creativity to do something that matters. Whether you are studying, working or exploring a new direction, this role offers a meaningful way to build your confidence, develop new skills and contribute to something with real impact.

You might already be creating digital content in your spare time. Or you might be keen to try it for the first time and want a safe, supportive place to learn. Either way, we are looking for someone who wants to help us tell stories that feel honest and human, and who is not afraid to experiment or ask questions along the way.

We are looking for someone who is:

Creative and confident in digital communication

Passionate about storytelling and visual identity

Careful with privacy, consent and safeguarding

A strong communicator who can work well independently and in a team

Reliable, organised and keen to learn

You do not need experience in a similar role. What matters is your attitude, your curiosity, and your desire to use your voice to support something bigger than yourself. We will give you a full induction, access to training tailored to your role, and regular support from a welcoming, experienced team who want you to succeed.

Whether you are building your skills or bringing plenty of experience, this is your chance to help us grow digitally and shine a light on the amazing work our teams do every day. If that sounds like something you would enjoy, we would love to hear from you.
