Working Closely With: Restaurant Manager & General Manager

Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 + Tronc and excellent benefits including healthcare, wellbeing support, 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, life assurance, meals on duty, and more.

The Floor Manager is responsible for leading service on the floor and ensuring the smooth, efficient and high-quality delivery of the guest experience. This is a hands-on role, acting as the operational lead during service - managing flow, supporting the team and maintaining standards, while working closely with management to drive performance.

Guided by the British landscape, Nettle celebrates exceptional seasonal produce, transforming carefully sourced ingredients into thoughtful, unexpected dishes. Floor Manager - The Role:

  • Service Leadership & Floor Ownership: Take full ownership of the floor during service, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Lead and direct the team, managing pace, priorities and service flow. Be visible on the floor, engaging with guests and supporting the team. Ensure all areas are service-ready and maintained throughout the shift.
  • Guest Experience & Standards: Deliver a consistently high standard of guest experience. Build strong relationships with members and guests, recognising preferences. Proactively manage guest feedback and resolve issues effectively. Ensure service standards are maintained and improved throughout service.
  • Team Leadership & Support: Lead and support front of house team members during shifts. Run pre-service briefings and communicate key information clearly. Provide real-time coaching and feedback during service. Support the development of Supervisors and junior team members. Act as a key link between the team and management.
  • Operations & Coordination: Ensure all service areas are organised, stocked and ready. Maintain coordination between front of house, kitchen and bar teams. Support opening and closing procedures. Ensure adherence to SOPs, checklists and company standards. Assist with rota execution and team deployment during shifts.
  • Commercial & Operational Awareness: Support efficient labour deployment during service. Drive upselling and revenue opportunities through the team. Assist with stock control (linen, glassware, crockery, etc.). Support accurate cash handling and end-of-day procedures.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with health & safety, food hygiene and licensing regulations. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation. Ensure correct use of systems (POS, reservations, scheduling tools). Report maintenance or operational issues promptly.
  • Collaboration & Culture: Work closely with Assistant Restaurant Manager and Restaurant Manager. Support cross-functional collaboration across kitchen, bar and FOH. Contribute to a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture. Represent the values of Birchwood, The Conduit and Levy.
