The primary responsibility of the Floor Manager is to support and assist in the efficient operations of both our Live and Confex events. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining operational standards, and fostering a positive work environment for the team. You will lead front-line teams, supervisors and agency staff, ensure service excellence while maintaining Levy's Signature Service standards and client requests.
This is an operational management role leading the operational delivery of exhibitions, banquets, internals, corporate events and hospitality functions, ensuring consistent implementation of standards and excellence in service delivery.
- Operations Support: Support the successful delivery of exhibitions, banquets, corporate events, hospitality functions and internal events, ensuring operational standards are consistently achieved. Lead event operations from set-up through to breakdown, overseeing opening and closing procedures, labour deployment, stock control and the smooth day-to-day running of events. Supporting the Head of Convention, Senior Event Manager and Event Manager in the delivery of all events.
- Customer Service: Build strong relationships with clients, organisers and guests, proactively identifying opportunities to exceed expectations while monitoring service standards and acting on customer feedback to continuously improve the overall experience. Act as a visible presence on the event floor whilst monitoring service standards and addressing issues promptly alongside interacting with customers to gather feedback and contribute to improving the overall catering experience.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate and support supervisors, casual team members and agency staff to deliver exceptional service standards. Conduct operational briefings and debriefings, support recruitment, onboarding and training, and coach team members to maximise performance.
- Financial & Commercial Performance: Support the Head of Convention in the reduction of wastage, risk of theft and protect overall profitability and revenue. Achieve set targets through effective labour control, stock control, waste reduction and proactive upselling opportunities. Monitor staffing levels and operational efficiency, applying strong commercial awareness to minimise costs, reduce stock loss and maximise profitability.
- Health, Safety and Environment (HSE): Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, food safety, allergen management and licensing requirements. Conduct operational checks, encourage safe working practices and ensure all events are delivered in line with company policies and statutory regulations.
- Quality Control: Maintain consistently high operational and service standards across all events through effective planning, monitoring and continuous improvement. Evaluate operational performance through event briefings and debriefings, implementing improvements that enhance efficiency, service delivery and guest satisfaction. Ensure food safety, allergen management and licensing requirements are consistently met.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, organisers, venue stakeholders and colleagues to support successful event delivery. Experience in an Event Manager, Operations Manager, Floor Manager or similar hospitality leadership role, with responsibility for delivering large-scale conferences, exhibitions, banquets or live events and achieving operational KPIs.
- Customer Focus: Commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and building positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Commercial & Compliance: Good understanding of labour management, health and safety, food safety and licensing requirements. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays in line with business and event requirements. Experience managing agency and casual workforces. Acts as an ambassador for the organisation and supports wider operational objectives as required.
