Role Summary

We’re seeking a hands-on, strategic Director of People Services to lead HR operations, support people-focused initiatives, and serve as a key partner to leaders across our organization. This role will manage core HR functions, ensure compliance, and build a strong employee experience for both corporate and clinical teams.

What You’ll Do

HR Business Partnership & Leadership Support

  • Act as the lead HR partner to department heads, supporting team planning, talent reviews, and performance interventions
  • Provide direct guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance conversations, and internal transitions
  • Join regular leadership and departmental meetings to provide HR insights, surface trends, and gain alignment on upcoming talent needs
  1. Help leaders address morale, engagement, or team structure challenges by facilitating discussion and recommending actionable solutions

People Operations & Systems

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, job changes, leave tracking, and data integrity in our HR management system (Gusto)
  • Develop and maintain scalable SOPs for recurring HR processes to ensure consistency and reduce risk
  • Oversee internal dashboards using Tableau and ensure leaders have access to relevant people data (turnover, onboarding, engagement, etc.)
  • Collaborate with MedHQ and DIT to support accurate, timely, and compliant administration of payroll, benefits, and HRIS integrations

Culture & Engagement Programs

  • Lead annual engagement survey process, including vendor coordination, communications, analysis, and action planning follow-up
  • Oversee culture-building initiatives such as team appreciation activities, internal recognition programs and retreats
  • Facilitate Working Genius assessments across the organization, and provide coaching to leaders and teams on how to apply insights
  • Support internal communications during times of change, ensuring managers are equipped with talking points and updates

Talent Development & Onboarding

  • Design and manage structured onboarding experiences for new hires, with specific tracks for corporate team members and ASC Administrators
  • Partner with hiring managers and TA to ensure role clarity, clear expectations, and onboarding timelines are aligned
  • Maintain up-to-date job descriptions, org charts, and succession plans across the organization
  • Lead quarterly performance conversations through Ninety, support training on the process, and monitor timely completion

Compliance & Total Rewards

  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are compliant with federal and state employment laws, including COBRA, EEOC, FMLA, and ACA
  • Coordinate annual benefits renewal process with Broker including plan review, employee communication, and open enrollment
  • Respond to and manage audit requests and benefit reporting to ensure 100% compliance across cycles
  • Support compensation benchmarking, budgeting, and tracking in partnership with Finance and the Chief People Officer

Team Leadership & Project Work

  • Directly manage and support the Executive Assistant team, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and growth opportunities
  • Lead or co-lead cross-functional initiatives that support employee engagement, process improvements, or organizational change
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to align recruiting efforts with workforce planning and onboarding readiness
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve internal People Services workflows and team efficiency

What You’ll Bring

  • 7–10 years of progressive HR experience across generalist, operations, and business partner roles
  • Experience in fast-paced, multi-site organizations (healthcare or PE-backed preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and benefits administration
  • Demonstrated ability to coach managers, resolve complex employee matters, and build trust across departments
  • Proficiency in HR systems such as Gusto, Tableau, and Ninety—or the ability to quickly learn and optimize tools
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt messages for executives, managers, and frontline staff
