About the Role

Compass Community is seeking a dedicated School Operations Officer to ensure the smooth running of our school’s non‑teaching operations. This is a pivotal role, sitting between office staff and senior leadership, where you’ll make a real difference to our staff, pupils, and families.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the school office, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front‑of‑house service.
  • Manage school systems and databases, including pupil records, attendance, and safeguarding.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher and wider school team.
  • Coordinate maintenance, health and safety checks, and resource orders.
  • Support statutory data submissions and compliance processes.
  • Act as the first point of contact for parents and carers, ensuring timely and professional communication.
  • Organise school meetings and events, including agendas and minute‑taking.
  • Support with HR administration, admissions, and financial compliance.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong administrative experience, ideally in a social care, education or regulatory setting.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Familiarity with compliance processes, audits or data reporting (desirable).
