About The Role
Compass Community School Pinetree Park is an independent specialist school in Lewes providing high‑quality, therapeutic education for pupils aged 10‑19 with social, emotional, mental health and additional special educational needs. We are seeking Teaching Assistants who can support children with complex and challenging behaviours and work closely with teachers and therapists to create a safe and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning.
- Work with children 1:1 or in small groups.
- Manage classroom resources.
- Take children on educational trips and visits.
- Have lunch with children who struggle socially.
- Maintain a good basic understanding of English and maths.
- Ensure children are safe during heightened behaviours and use strong behaviour‑management skills and excellent communication.
- Create, play and teach games to develop social skills or further learning.
- Create engaging displays that support teaching and create an exceptional learning environment.
