An established UK-based business with a strong presence in manufacturing is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day financial operations across two key entities. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a broad and hands-on role where you will lead financial processes, mentor a capable team, and support strategic financial planning, all while ensuring the highest standards of compliance and control.
About the Role
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, and playing a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation. You will work closely with senior leadership to provide insights that support performance and growth, while also developing and supporting the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and consolidate monthly management accounts and forecasts.
- Lead annual budgeting and year-end audit processes.
- Provide insightful financial reporting to support decision-making.
- Manage cashflow, working capital, and tax compliance (VAT, PAYE, R&D).
- Oversee fixed assets, costing, and production variances.
- Support, mentor, and develop the finance team.
- Drive process improvements and ensure Health & Safety standards are upheld.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or QBE with strong experience).
- Strong financial systems knowledge (Sage 200 desirable).
- Advanced Excel skills; able to analyse and present data clearly.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Experience with multiple currencies (EUR, USD) and manufacturing (preferred).
- Proactive, improvement-focused, and values-driven.
