Salary: Β£30,000 - Β£40,000 (depending on experience)
Compass Point Recruitment is working with a well-established business based in Bury St Edmunds that is looking to recruit an Electronics Engineer to support its development and production teams. The role focuses on the design, maintenance, and support of electronic systems used across the company's full product range.
You will work closely with mechanical, software, and applications teams to deliver reliable, high quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:- Build and test prototype and production-level electronic assemblies
- Carry out fault-finding and root-cause analysis on electronic systems
- Support verification and validation activities, including EMC and safety testing
- Work with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve electronic issues and manage obsolescence
- Provide technical support for production, servicing, and field-based issues
- Produce and maintain technical documentation (schematics, BOMs, test procedures)
- Support compliance with relevant standards (CE, UKCA, EMC, Low Voltage Directive)
- Degree in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent experience as an Electrical/Electronics Technician)
- Experience using PCB design tools (e.g. Gerber viewers)
- Familiarity with embedded systems and communication protocols (IΒ²C, SPI, UART, CAN, RS485)
- Strong understanding of EMC, ESD, and electrical safety requirements
- Proven experience designing and troubleshooting electronic circuits
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
- Methodical and detail-oriented mindset
