Compass Point Recruitment is seeking an experienced Production Manager for our client to lead day-to-day production operations within their manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for managing a small team and overseeing production performance, quality, and delivery in a small batch / bespoke manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and comfortable leading from the front while driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the production team (6 direct reports), ensuring targets and standards are met
- Drive health & safety compliance and best practice across production
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across people and processes
- Ensure production documentation is accurate, up to date, and followed consistently
- Maintain high quality standards across products and processes
- Support production planning to meet customer delivery and revenue targets
- Proactively resolve production, maintenance, and facilities-related issues
- Contribute to decisions around equipment, tooling, and resource requirements
- Embed a culture of accountability, ownership, and performance on the shop floor
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally small-batch or bespoke production
- Proven experience managing and developing production teams
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality, and health & safety
- A practical, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- Confident communicator, able to work closely with senior leadership
