About the Role:
The Marketing Director will report directly to the Compass Lexecon EMEA Senior Leadership Team, liaising with senior stakeholders across the EMEA region. You will be supported by two Senior Marketing Executives in London and a Practice Support Manager based in Brussels. You will collaborate with a Senior Marketing Manager in the US to deliver strategic global objectives and projects and will advise on US-led initiatives. You will shape and manage multi-channel marketing programmes that address the Firm’s strategic objectives, liaising with regional and practice heads and business support functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the marketing plan and budget, liaising with senior management to establish commercial objectives and measure success.
- Produce business cases for exceptional spend.
- Develop and manage the digital and communications strategy, working with the Senior Marketing Executives to monitor and optimise website, social media and email performance.
- Work closely with the digital team at our parent company (FTI Consulting) and external partner to develop a strategy to improve Compass Lexecon’s website SEO.
- Oversee content programmes, working with Research, Senior Marketing Executives and the global Public Relations team at FTI Consulting to ensure impactful, client-centric communications that differentiate the Compass Lexecon brand via email, social, and external publications.
- Oversee regional and office-specific event programmes: Work with stakeholders to design agendas and secure high-profile speakers for flagship events and with the Senior Marketing Execs to ensure smooth planning, execution, and feedback.
- Lead Compass Lexecon’s future leaders’ Marketing and BD programme, including office-specific events, initiatives, social media strategy, and training.
- Identify, instigate and maintain relationships with effective third-party affiliations and manage high-level sponsorship negotiations.
- Work with practice area groups to embed a system of market intelligence and analysis to monitor Compass Lexecon’s market position, brand perception and opportunities for growth to help inform strategic decisions and marketing planning.
- Lead an account management programme that tracks existing client relationships to maximise opportunities for repeat business and helps ensure that Compass Lexecon delivers best-in-class service to clients.
- Responsible for the management and professional development of two Senior Marketing Executives: streamline workloads, liaise with senior stakeholders to manage competing priorities and advocate for the team, and share knowledge and expertise regularly.
- Brand alignment: Ensure collateral and templates are fully brand-compliant. Embed Compass Lexecon’s brand values in all activities.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong commercial focus with a clear understanding of market position across different practice areas, how to identify target markets and growth opportunities, and the ability to collaborate with senior management to agree priorities and develop and execute strategic marketing plans.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with adaptable and confident communication style, able to effectively manage competing demands, advise and influence at all levels, and advocate for the marketing function.
- The ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Balancing strategic focus with a hands-on approach to delivery.
- Excellent organisational skills; able to coordinate multiple projects and competing demands with great attention to detail.
- Expert in digital marketing programmes and software, including CRM (Salesforce), marketing automation (Pardot), CMS (Craft), Google Analytics, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Sprout Social.
- Experience within economic or financial consulting would be advantageous.
Qualifications:
- CIM Diploma-qualified or equivalent experience.
- Degree level educated, ideally in a business or marketing discipline, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 10+ years’ marketing experience in a professional services B2B environment including at least 2 years at a Senior Manager/Director level.
- Proven track record in shaping and implementing marketing strategies, plans and budgets, working with senior management to align with business objectives, and reporting on success.
- Experience in digital marketing strategy and implementation.
- Experience in managing and developing a small team.
