We are currently recruiting for a Senior Marketing Manager to work with us at UCL.
Location: UCL Campus London
Rate of pay: £40,000 – £46,000 per annum
Working pattern: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday with flexibility to work 1-2 days per week from home
The Snr Marketing Manager is responsible for managing and executing all marketing activities at their assigned university or college site. Reporting directly to the Account Director – Universities, this role ensures that marketing strategies are effectively implemented to drive student engagement, enhance brand presence, and support business objectives. The Snr Marketing Manager collaborates with internal teams, university stakeholders, and central marketing to align local marketing efforts with the wider organisational strategy.
A key aspect of the role is the ongoing analysis of marketing performance, including student engagement rates, sales returns, average transaction value (ATV), footfall data, social media engagement, and campaign effectiveness. The Snr Marketing Manager is also responsible for overseeing branding, signage, social media management, and digital communications at their site.
Key Responsibilities
Site Marketing Execution & Management
- Implement and manage all marketing activities at the assigned university or college site.
- Develop and execute a tailored marketing strategy that aligns with overall business goals and university-specific needs.
- Manage all on-site branding, signage (directional and promotional), and marketing materials to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
- Oversee social media accounts for the site, ensuring engaging content and strong community interaction.
- Create and manage digital communications, including email campaigns, app notifications, social media and online content
- Ensure high-quality and approved content is used across all marketing channels, kiosks, and digital platforms.
- Plan and execute student engagement initiatives, including Freshers\’ Week activations and other key student events.
- Work closely with operational leads to brand and market food concepts effectively.
- Manage Social media design executive and Marketing assistant.
Client & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as the primary marketing contact for university and company stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships.
- Work with university client to ensure all marketing efforts align with their brand identity and student engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with external marketing teams to align messaging and PR strategy.
- Participate in regular strategy meetings with the Account Director – to review site performance and marketing effectiveness.
Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and report on key marketing metrics, including student engagement rates, sales performance, ATV, footfall trends, and digital analytics.
- Use data insights to adjust marketing strategies and ensure maximum impact.
- Conduct regular site audits to assess marketing effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Support for Openings & Refurbishments
- Support the launch of new concepts, refurbishments, and operational changes through targeted marketing campaigns.
- Ensure smooth roll-out of new signage, branding, and customer engagement materials.
- Assist with the introduction and promotion of digital tools, including app updates and new engagement features.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a marketing role, preferably within the education, hospitality, and / or retail sectors.
- Strong understanding of branding, digital marketing, and social media management.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in analysing marketing data and applying insights to strategy.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience in working with design tools and digital content platforms is an advantage.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
