About the Role

We’re looking for an organised, confident and passionate Nutritionist to join Lodestone House and support the delivery of our Nutrition, Allergen and Sustainability Strategy at Uppingham School. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence pupil wellbeing, enhance food education, and help deliver positive social and environmental impact across a vibrant school community. You’ll work closely with Compass Education’s central Nutrition, Allergen & Sustainability teams, as well as teachers, catering teams, pupils and parents. If you love food, nutrition, sustainability — and enjoy inspiring others — this role is for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging nutrition and food education sessions for pupils and staff.
  • Lead practical cookery workshops, embedding wellbeing and food‑origin messages.
  • Deliver sports nutrition sessions for aspiring young athletes.
  • Provide bespoke nutritional guidance for identified pupils.
  • Review school menus and advise on nutritional quality.
  • Support allergen management processes, including staff training and medical diet menus.
  • Complete audits, safety walks and ensure compliance around allergens & nutrition.
  • Build strong relationships across the school community.
  • Create case studies showcasing the programme’s impact.
  • Support the school’s Social Value and Sustainability Strategy.

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Essential:
  • A degree or recognised qualification in Nutrition (AfN accredited or equivalent).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with both children and adults.
  • Experience with food allergies and intolerances.
  • Ability to make complex nutrition concepts easy to understand.
  • Confidence to run cookery sessions and hands‑on workshops.
  • Ability to work independently and build credibility quickly.
  • Team‑focused attitude and strong organisational skills.
  • Desirable:
  • Sports nutrition knowledge/qualification.
  • Cookery or chef training/experience.
  • Interest in sustainability issues.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away occasionally.
