We're currently recruiting a dedicated Bar Staff to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Northern Ireland on a full time basis, contracted to 35 hours per week.

Join our team at the Student Union, Ulster University Magee Campus, where you'll play a key role in delivering an outstanding food and beverage experience in a vibrant, student-focused environment. As a Bar Supervisor, you will lead by example in a fast-paced hospitality setting, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high operational standards, and supporting your team to create a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will have previous supervisory experience in a hospitality or bar environment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding service. You will also be responsible for cash handling, stock control, food safety, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support the day-to-day operation of the bar and service areas.
- Prepare, serve and present food and beverages.
- Maximise sales opportunities through excellent product knowledge and upselling.
- Operate the till accurately, process payments and balance cash records.
- Assist with stock ordering, deliveries, stock rotation and inventory control.
- Ensure all food safety, hygiene and Health & Safety procedures are followed.
- Support hospitality events and campus functions as required.
- Lead, motivate and support colleagues to deliver excellent service.
- Attend all mandatory training sessions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Previous supervisory experience within a bar, hospitality or catering environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Experience handling cash and maintaining accurate records.
- Flexible approach with the ability to work evenings, weekends and busy event periods.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a bartender or bar supervisor.
- Experience in stocktaking and inventory management.
- Food Safety/HACCP qualification.
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Hospitality, Food Service or a related discipline.
