We are looking for a Learning & Development Instructional Designer to design, develop, and implement engaging learning experiences tailored to our team’s unique needs at AELTC Wimbledon. This exciting L&D Instructional Designer role plays a key role in this iconic sports venue’s team, including collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs), applying instructional learning design theories, and using creative multimedia tools to create impactful training content for frontline colleagues, management, culinary and central function teams.
Instructional Designer - The role
- Design and develop learning content for various formats including e-learning, instructor-led training, and blended learning.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance to hospitality operations.
- Design and develop instructional materials including e-learning modules, training manual, onboarding journal, How to' guide and guest experience training.
- Redesign existing content to improve learner engagement and operational efficiency.
- Ability to facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions using interactive and learner-centred approaches.
- Develop multimedia elements including graphics, animations, and videos showcasing hospitality scenarios.
- Utilise authoring tools (e.g., Evolve, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) to build interactive and engaging modules.
- Integrate training content into Learning Management Systems (LMS) and monitor learner progress.
- Conduct needs assessments and learner analysis specific on their roles and responsibilities.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using feedback from guests, staff, and performance metrics.
- Maintain documentation and version control of learning assets across hotel properties.
- Support onboarding programmes and continuous learning initiatives for all our colleagues.
- To perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
What we’re looking for
- Experience in learning design or instructional development within the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools and LMS platforms.
- Basic graphic design or video editing skills to create engaging training content.
- Knowledge of hospitality software systems (e.g., PMS, POS) is a bonus!
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience facilitating training in a multicultural and multigenerational hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of customer service excellence and guest experience standards.
