We’re now looking for a Deputy Head of Food & Beverage – Back of House to support the delivery of large-scale, high-profile events in one of Europe’s busiest event destinations.
The Role
As Deputy Head of F&B – Back of House, you’ll be a key operational leader, supporting the Head of Back of House to ensure all food and beverage operations behind the scenes run safely, efficiently and seamlessly. From logistics and stock control to people leadership and compliance, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering exceptional events at scale. This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced, event-led environments and enjoys leading large, diverse teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the leadership of all food & beverage back of house operations across ExCeL London
- Lead, motivate and develop back of house teams, ensuring clear communication and high performance
- Oversee goods-in, storage, stock control and internal distribution across multiple outlets and events
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, health & safety and COSHH standards at all times
- Work collaboratively with culinary, front of house and event operations teams to deliver seamless events
- Act as a key operational decision-maker during live events and peak trading periods
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes and operational efficiency
- Deputise for the Head of Back of House as required
About You
- Strong experience in a senior back of house, logistics or F&B operations role within a large-scale venue, events or hospitality environment
- A confident, credible leader with experience managing large teams
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong working knowledge of food safety, health & safety and compliance best practice
- Comfortable working flexibly, including evenings, weekends and major event days
