We are currently recruiting for a HSE Manager to work at a prestigious workplace site in London.

Location: London (occasional site visits to our central productions unit in Wimbledon)

Rate of Pay: £45,000 per annum

Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivery of H&S performance indicators
  • Delivery of Food, health and safety & Allergen performance indicators
  • Delivery of proactive internal auditing
  • Delivery of reactive audits and interventions as required
  • Operational engagement
  • Coaching and support of all teams to create a culture of safety

Role Specific

  • HACCP & Safety Systems: Maintain and implement bespoke HACCP systems in line with Compass Global CPU standards.
  • Workplace Safety: Oversee and maintain the Compass Workplace Safety Management System, ensuring that operational safety standards are consistently met.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work proactively with managers and key staff to develop and sustain a continuous improvement program for HSE management. This includes conducting regular audits, inspections, and spot checks, preparing risk assessments, and facilitating team training activities from CPU through to site delivery and customer consumption.
  • To provide competent advice, guidance and support to operational teams to enable them to carry out their HSE responsibilities.
  • To support the retention and mobilisation of new business in order to facilitate the implementation of effective HSE standards.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate food safety and safety incidents, ensuring that they are properly reported and that improvements are implemented.
  • Liaison with Enforcement Bodies: Liaise with enforcement agencies when required.
  • Expertise & Support: Provide technical expertise and support to ensure compliance with regulatory, company, and accreditation requirements related to Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and the Environment across the various CPU sites.
    Additional Responsibilities
  • Collaboration with Management Teams: Work closely with site management teams to maintain and improve safe food systems and general safety standards.
  • HSE Support: Assist the Sector Head of QHSE Manager in developing and supporting the CPU & delivery sites, particularly around new developments and enhancements.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with other health, safety, environmental, and quality professionals within the business to ensure a consistent and effective approach across the company in meeting HSE objectives.
